Principal,
Jay Trivedy, said:
“These are
another outstanding set of results and reflect the tremendous work that is done
at our College by all the staff and students.
The age range of 16 – 19 is, in my opinion, the most exciting period
when young people are fully exploring their own lasting potential. It is a pleasure to be able to work with them
and a privilege to be able to lead such a wonderful College.
The staff at
Wyke show year on year their expertise in bringing the best out of each and
every student. Post-16 students are our
sole focus and the students at Wyke show what can be achieved when the right
teaching, support and facilities are there for them.
I am
absolutely delighted particularly with the large number of students achieving
the top grades and I know that our College will continue to provide the best
possible education for the widest range of young people. We have consistently shown what can be done
in the city. It is an engine of
confidence and achievement for the future.
I am
especially pleased that all three of our Oxbridge applicants and all of our
medical applicants have been successful.
However, I am delighted for all of the students and their
achievements. I would like to thank the
families and staff (teaching and non-teaching) who have been so supportive of
our students.”
Mr John
Wilson, Chair of the Wyke Sixth Form College Corporation, added:
“Once again our
students have achieved a fantastic set of results. I congratulate them for their hard work and
wish them well for the future. Thanks
must go to all the College staff for their hard work and dedication.”
